"Booty" is a song recorded by American singerJennifer Lopez for her eighth studio album,A.K.A. (2014). It was written and produced byCory Rooney, Lopez and Benny Medina, with additional writing from Chris Brown, Asia Bryant,Armando Pérez, Diplo, Lewis D. Gittus, Tedra Renee Wilson, and Danny Omerhodic. "Booty" samples "Dat a Freak", a song by Diplo & Swick, and it features Lopez's frequent collaboratorPitbull. Initially entitled "Big Booty", the song was first rejected by Lopez who disliked the idea of having a song titled "Big Booty". However, after playing the demo for her kids, they enjoyed the track and Lopez was convinced to record it, changing its title for "Booty". It was first premiered in a listening party she threw for critics in 2014. Initially, the album's version was announced as a single, with its coverart being released on August 13, 2014, however the remix version was released instead.
"Booty" is a dance track, with middle easternvibe, heavy percussion and Oriental keyboard riff, while its lyrics portrait Lopez inviting girls to the dancefloor to have a good time and dance, while shaking their butts. The song received generally favorable reviews from music critics, with many complimenting the song's fun nature, the dance environment and Pitbull's appearance, but a few dismissed its concept. Commercially, "Booty" performed moderately worldwide; it became a top twenty hit in the United States, charting at number eighteen on the US Billboard Hot 100, and entered the top forty in Canada, Australia and New Zealand, among other music markets.
"Booty" was teased during some concerts Lopez made in early 2014, being premiered fully at the free concert that Lopez made in the Bronx in June 2014, and later during the TV showGood Morning America and at the Fashion Rocks event. A one-minute teaser clip for the track was released on June 13, 2014, and it features Lopez and a group of women twerking. The teaser-video received high prase for its visuals and choreography, while Lopez was complimented by critics for looking rejuvenated and younger.
But the world of music it also has disses
Nicki Minaj Disses Iggy Azalea at BET Awards.
At last night's BET Awards, Nicki Minaj was presented with the award for Best Female Hip-Hop Artist. During her acceptance speech, she appeared to poke at Iggy Azalea, who was also nominated in the category. "What I want the world to know about Nicki Minaj is when you hear Nicki Minaj spit, Nicki Minaj wrote it," she said, before striking a number of exaggerated poses. During the ensuing applause, she kept saying "No shade" (implying: yes, shade) before finishing her speech. Watch a video below, via Consequence of Sound.
Some context: Azalea's been dogged by rumors that she uses a ghostwriter, though no conclusive evidence has emerged. Minaj's pointed insistence that she writes all her own raps, then, would be a little fun at Azalea's expense. Recently, Minaj also took issue with a Forbeswriter's assertion that Azalea was running hip-hop.
Looking for more evidence? Well, there was the way she danced during Azalea's performance of "Fancy" during the show. You can watch a Vine of that below, also via Consequence of Sound. Sarcastic dancing: 2014's new battleground!
and if they work together they can creat a magical melody ....
